In this music video, Dave the artist of this song, who is rapping/singing about how being black should not affect how people see each other by the colour of there skin such as in the music video when a young boy in sitting behind bars as he is watching he friend who is black getting taken by police and being handcuffed. This can be shown by the lyrics when Dave says “the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice a kid dies, the blacker the killer, the sweeter the news and if he's white you give him a chance he’ll ill and confused if he's black he is probably armed, you see him and shoot”

This song is about poverty and showing people how even though you could be broke you could still have spirit, or hope and ambitions. “Even when we never had a penny, yeah, we always had spirit” These lyrics help to show how the people of black culture who live in poverty still have ways of building themselves up and being part of a great community.
